What is WIC Alabama in the Process of?

The Women, Infants, and Children abbreviated as Wic Supplemental Nutrition Program is a federally funded health and nutrition program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The program helps the infants and children under the five years of age, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and postpartum women to get healthy and nutritious food such as milk, bread, juice, butter, eggs, cereal, peanut etc from WIC authorized vendors for the proper development of children at the early Stage of the childhood. The program is administered by the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH). It also provides information about nutrition, health and breastfeeding and helps in locating health care and other community services. The applicants has to fulfill the basic eligibility requirements such as income, nutrition risk assessment, women should be pregnant, breastfeeding, postpartum, having young infants below the Age of 5 years old.
