What is Tricare Provider in the Process of?

Tricare is the name of a health care program that was run by Tricare Management Activity (TMA) under the United States Department of Defense Military Health System for the benefit of defense personnel. The program was previously known with the name of Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Uniformed Services (CHAMPUS). Tricare Management Activity (TMA) is the part of the Military Health System which takes care of the persons which are engaged in US military active duty. The people covered under the program are defense personnel whether presently serving or retired, dependents of defense personnel and members of reserve component.

In the year 2013, Tricare Management Activity (TMA) was closed down and its operations were transfered to some another agency named Defense Health Agency (DHA) which was established on the same day on which TMA shut down its operations.
