The privately held company has 52 transport routs and many carriers. It was formed in 1973 as a result of combination of 11 private companies. Initially, it was named the Metropolitan Suburban Bus Authority. Till 2011, the company operations were owned by the Nassau County and after that it was sold to Veolia Transportation, as a result of disputes with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The corporate office of the company is situated in Garden City, New York.

Last Saturday (7th of February, 2015), the 9:30 PM NICE N20 bus (scheduled from Flushing to Hicksville) didn't come. Passengers waited in the Flushing stop to 10:07 PM, another N20 bus (scheduled to go to Roslyn) came. At this time, passengers have waited for around 50 minutes. Since this bus didn't go to Hicksville, for those passengers needed to go Hicksville had to wait another 30 minutes more for the next N20 bus. It's frozen outside in this February, especially during night. Where was the N20 bus driver for 9:30 PM schedule? We truly wish him to experience waiting outside in a winter night for one hour.
