I emailed request in Feb 2015 to cancel Doubleday Book Club membership. They replied that they would get back to me and never did. I received March offer, but am unable to decline because I CANNOT access my account. The only thing that shows up is their 'credits' promotion of which I want no part. I tried calling customer service only to be put on hold until I GAVE UP IN FRUSTRATION. Doubleday seems to be holding members hostage when they try to cancel membership.
I placed an order on 2/3/2015, my order didn't ship according to their records until 2/9/2015. I sent them a email checking the order status only to find out my order was shipped to the incorrect address. They offered to resend the order,, but when I requested express shipping due to their error, the told me I had to pay for it. I spoke to the supervisor and she too said that if I wanted to express shipping that I would need to pay for it. They made the error, but yet I have to pay for it? Bad Customer service, I cancelled my account, and disputed charges with my bank. This was unacceptable and not a good business practice.
My complaint is that I ask for this account to be closed a month ago and you still send monthly features and say I will be charged for them, well if you send any more books the cost will be on you. I do not want any more books sent to me and this will be my last time that I ask you to cancel this account. I want this account closed please. If you mail me any more automatic shipments I will not send them back and I will not accept any charges for them either. I have sent two or three shipments back already and you sent me an email that I would not have any more monthly features so get er done. Yvonia Ward.

I have not had an account with you for a long time and I have emailed you several times over the past year when I started getting books I was not ordering. I have returned all books and keep receiving new books constantly and bills please discontinue sending me books and billing statements as I have not kept any of the books. If you continue to send me books and statements I will be forced to take further action. I cannot call you as you are closed when I get home from work please have a supervisor call me asap as I have emailed 3 different times and no one bothers to call me back. I have not ordered from this place in at least three years All of a sudden I am receiving boxes of books and bills saying I owe them, NO I do not want this service.
Busy signal. Never got through - would like to actually speak to a person instead of going through email and waiting days for a response.
I purchased a book one year ago. I never received the book and have since been unable to reach anyone since there is no valid customer service number available. I'm very upset that I lost my money.
