I received a call from pcservice24x7, informing me that my computer had been hacked by Russians, who would have access to my banking data and could deplete my bank accounts without my knowing it. This company help in the past with keeping my computer up to date,, but recently had not renewed my agreement with them. They moved rather quickly and had access to my computer. Within minutes I was told that my computer would be protected and I should not fear. Eventually the cost for this service amounted to over $2800 US. I have informed by Credit Card company who is assisting me in disputing this transaction. I initially agreed with that company to a $1, 000 fee which would give me life-time computer service, however, I no longer have confidence in this company and I want the entire amount charged on my credit card to be reversed. I purchased a 2-year 24/7 tech-on-line support for my laptop and desktop. The phone number Voice requested a number in an email on the desktop computer, which I have at home. After I could not provide the number, I was instructed to send a description of my issue to avangate and they would forward it to the software seller for resolution. This situation is a substantial disappointment, because I will not return to home for six days. And my laptop is very corrupted.
